FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER Scheduled to Launch in November 2021 with Pre-Registration Beginning This Month
Ateam Entertainment Inc. (headquarters: Nagoya, Japan; president: Yukimasa Nakauchi) and SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. (headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; president: Yosuke Matsuda) announced in a special livestream on October 3 that their collaborative battle royale title “FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER” is scheduled to launch in November 2021, with pre-registration available during October. Along with a sneak peek of gameplay from the latest version of the title, the livestream also included information on adjustments made to the game based on player feedback and the announcement of a new playable “style”.

Players won’t have to wait long as the release month for FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER was announced by the developers who, during a special livestream that aired on October 3, said players can expect to have the game in their hands this November (2021). Pre-registration for the game will begin during the month of October.

Players will fight to join the ranks of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit in FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER, an official chapter of FINAL FANTASY VII. A total of 75 candidates duke it out utilizing guns, swords, and magic in this RPG-infused battle royale action game. Players can defeat monsters to earn experience points and gil, call upon fan-favorite summons such as Ifrit to fight for them, and catch a chocobo to dash and glide across the battlefield.

■Latest Info Announced in the Livestream
During the livestream, the developers made several announcements, including the addition of much-requested controller support and information on a new playable “style”. Gameplay of the latest version of the game was also broadcast to showcase the new features.
-Adjustments in Response to Player Feedback from the Closed Beta Test
The closed beta test was held in June 2021 and over 90% of players of the English version were “satisfied” or “very satisfied.” The development team received a great deal of feedback and requests from players, and under the direction of FINAL FANTASY VII creative director Testuya Nomura, made the following improvements and adjustments:
[Controller Support]
Controller support has been added for players who prefer using a controller over their touch screen.
[Training Mode]
A training mode in which players can test out materia and guns to hone their skills has been added.
[Improved Tutorial]
The tutorial has been made more intuitive so that first-time battle royale players can enjoy a smooth start.
[Collection Feature]
Players can obtain special materials from secret boxes and monster drops then exchange them for customization skins.
-New “Ninja” Style
Players can choose their preferred style before a game. The “warrior”, “sorcerer”, “monk”, and “ranger” styles that were available during the closed beta test will be accompanied by the new “ninja” style on release. This new addition specializes in stealth and mobility and throws a shuriken for its melee attacks. If you like sneaking up on your enemies and striking them unawares, then this is the style for you.
